Once again we held our Summer Show “live” on Saturday, 9th August, at the beautiful Warnford Village Hall.
2025 followed the successful, more streamlined, summer show format of 2024, eliminating those classes that appealed to very few exhibitors or none at all. We also had, for the first time, an innovative on-line entry process.

Another innovation that was roundly praised last year was “audience participation” in the Crafts and Fun sections. This was maintained for this year's show, with visitors encouraged to attribute "prizes" using an anonymous judging sheet, according to their opinions of the entries.

In our wonderful new venue, Peter Short kindly presented all the prizes and congratulated all participants on the efforts they had put in to produce such delightful exhibits.

Lucy Hutchinson and Anna Couldridge shared the glory in the Vegetable sections, with Steve Jones having the best vegetable collection. Carol Rowlatt was the winner for the Flower Arranging and the Flower sections while Joanne Horn once again wowed us all with her wonderful cookery, claiming the trophy back for the Cookery classes. We welcomed Jane Worrall to our show - winning the President's Challenge Trophy with her wonderful crafts. Joanna Rowlinson, Lindsey Ockenden, Jim Noble and Stephen Short also acquitted themselves honourably. Peter indeed also had the difficult task of presenting himself with the Bill Dines Trophy for sweet peas and had to roundly congratulate himself! Finally, Annabel Armstrong was awarded a Diploma for Excellence in Horticulture with Liz English awarded a Certificate of Merit for Floral Art, quite an achievement!

The stand out winner was, though, Carol Rowlatt winning the Stephens Challenge Trophy for the most points awarded to a member in the show.

All in all, a highly successful day, with a significant growth in entries over 2024. It was great fun, and a very happy atmosphere at such a typically British village event.
